Procrastinating

Many people get stuck in indecisiveness. They cannot make decision on even important matters affecting their life and breathe their last, leaving behind many of their problems still unsolved. In the grand battle of Lanka, demon-king Ravana got fatally wounded and was on verge of dying. Ravana was a great scholar. And so, Laxman went to the dying Ravana to hear some words of wisdom. Ravana said, “The worst thing that ever makes any person fail in his/her life is to postpone or delay doing something that needs to be done immediately. I wanted to do so many things in my life. I wanted to build stairs to the heaven, to turn the salt water of the whole sea into fresh water, to add fragrance to the golden sparkling city of Lanka, to have total control over death, and so on. I was definitely capable of doing all these things. But, alas, every single day, I kept on postponing them until the following day i.e. tomorrow. Now I am on verge of dying but that elusive ‘tomorrow’ I have been waiting for never ever turned up.”

Several people may be seen resolving others’ conflicts but their own problems would remain unresolved. Rather than being a brainy person who procrastinates, it is far better to be an ordinary person who knows the value of time and utilises it properly with enthusiasm and careful attention to get his/her things done. Any person who has got rid of laziness and has started to work diligently is truly a sensible person or will eventually become one.”

IF RAVAN THOUGHT THAT HE CAN BUILD A STAIR TO THE HEAVEN, AND TURN THE SALT WATER OF OCEAN IN TO SWEET WATER,
TO ADD FRAGRANCE TO THE CITY OF LANKA, AND TO HAVE TOTAL CONTROL OVER DEATH, THEN HE IS THE MOST STUPID, IDIOT
PERSON. AND IF LAXMAN THOUGHT THAT HE CAN LEARN SOMETHING FROM AN IDIOT LIKE THIS, WHAT DO YOU THINK OF LAXMAN’S INTELLIGENCE?

I Dont know who you are but one thing is clear that you are an ignorant person who dont believe in the power of dreams, who dont want to learn from the people around you, and secondly you are so egoistic that you dont even trust those whom you worship, do you think you are a better man than laxman who left everything to accompany his not real brother…you can think that i am a fundamentalist speaking out of reaction, but i want to tell you that i am a devoted muslim and still i salute the sacrifices of laxman and his character….just think over it….

My dear brother- His Holiness Shri Acharya is alluding a story which perhaps you are not aware of. Laxman went to dying Ravana under instructions of Lord Rama to learn Rajayoga… ‘coz Lord Rama knew the scholastic wisdom of Ravana… what happened next is not a matter of present context. I request you to be patient and learn NOT TO JUMP THE GUN…. and don’t be too eager to critisise and comment. Believe in Gestalt (German word meaning the WHOLE)and practice in your behaviour. God Bless you dear.

Procrastinating – the idea is highly relevant. Knowingly or unknowingly we postpone things which becomes futile in the course of time. It is very difficult to overcome this and it requires a strong will to avoid this. thank you
